UPDATE: “911 Freedom Congress”- NYC- September 11, 2012

Security Costs Bulletin From Pamela Geller regarding the 911 Freedom Congress:

The cost for security is spiraling for our "911 Freedom Congress".

Imagine, eleven  years after September 11, a conference on free speech in the heart of New York City requires these intense measures. We are talking about free speech — that’s it — and it is wildly controversial. Proving, yet again, how crucial our work is. We hired our own security team, at great expense, and they had to undertake extensive preparations with the New York Police Department and hotel security. I’m told that New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly even held a meeting solely to discuss how to handle it.

The Swedish government is also in the security mix — the concern being Lars Vilks, the Swedish cartoonist who is one of our featured speakers, and who has had to endure numerous death threats and attempts on his life since drawing a cartoon of Muhammad. Certainly leftist and Islamic supremacist thugs would do their best to get to Vilks.

The bottom line is that I have had to jack up security (NYPD and the hotel insisted upon it), and that takes money. We need your help. Please donate via Paypal to writeatlas@aol.com or tax-deductible to director@jihadwatch.org. We don’t get salaries and we don’t have a staff. Your contribution will go entirely to our work for freedom. And for that, may G-d bless you.

Even if you can’t be there — and the event is sold out — you can help the cause by contributing.

We are doing so much, so very much: the Islamorealism train ads in NY, the new bus campaign in San Francisco, the pro-Israel campaign in that same city, a pro-Israel new campaign in a new city, and this September 11th SION event, the cost of which far exceeded our expectations.

We need to fight this war, and we can’t do it without you.
