The Green Movement  occurred in the weeks following the highly contested June 12, 2009 presidential election, in which incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the victor.

The official results sparked massive, non-violent demonstrations across Iran as supporters of opposition candidates Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi claimed the election was rigged.

• Mehdi Karroubi: Karroubi’s 15-year house arrest was officially lifted. He has made public statements challenging Iran's current leadership and continues to advocate for the release of other political prisoners. [1, 2]

• Mir-Hossein Mousavi: Despite negotiations for their joint release, Mousavi and his wife, Zahra Rahnavard, have remained under house arrest. Mousavi made headlines in early 2026 for strongly condemning the Iranian government's crackdown on protesters. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

The revolution caused a drastic change in the Iranian culture. Iran was no longer a thriving country. This is part of the reason so many Iranians began to flee to America.^[45]

On July 19, 2026: Iran ruthlessly executed two young men —for helping terrified protesters flee the regime’s brutal security forces during the widespread demonstrations earlier this year.

Erfan Esfandiari, 18, and Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi, a 23-year-old Afghan refugee, were hanged on Sunday for sheltering demonstrators from government bullets and offering them refuge inside their homes, Masih Alinejad, an Iranian-American journalist and activist, wrote for the Free Press, citing local reports.

The pair are among the 59 men arrested together during the January protests in Shahid Alikhani Square in Isfahan, during which Iranian officials say four security force members were killed.

Twelve of them, including Esfandiari and Mohammadi, were sentenced to death. Those dozen were moved into quarantine last week, which likely means the remaining 10 will be executed soon, according to Alinejad. [ NY POST]

The April 8th actions occurred on the same day the U.S. and Iran agreed to a tentative 14-day ceasefire. Despite the pause in fighting, Iranian leadership and protesters remained highly skeptical, citing fears that the fragile truce could collapse into a wider conflict.

UANI (United Against a Nuclear Iran) tracking shows ongoing illicit maritime activity. An ongoing U.S. blockade initiated on April 13 targets vessels entering and exiting Iranian ports and those carrying sanctioned or contraband oil but does not apply to all Iran-linked ships. U.S. forces focus primarily on large VLCC tankers rather than smaller carriers.

(New York, NY) – United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) applauds President Trump and his administration for the latest sanctions designations action targeting entities and vessels involved in the illicit transport of Iranian oil and petrochemicals.

Seven of the eight vessels designated by the U.S. Treasury Department had previously been listed on UANI’s Ghost Armada for evasion of American sanctions.

Security forces opened fire on protesters, blocked medical aid and secretly removed bodies as they crushed demonstrations in Rasht, northern Iran, during January’s nationwide uprising, eyewitness accounts and documents sent to Iran International show.

Witnesses described security forces shooting at protesters, blocking aid to the wounded, demanding money from families before returning bodies, and pressuring relatives to hold secret burials and avoid public ceremonies.

The new accounts add to an Iran International public documentation campaign that has gathered testimony saying protesters in Rasht were driven into narrow market passages, trapped as fire spread and fired upon by security forces during January’s unrest.

 Can Trump crack Iran's negotiating playbook?
The Strait of Hormuz represents
another test of Iran's leverage.

For decades, the Islamic Republic has used the threat of disruption in the waterway as one of its most powerful strategic tools. But according to Homayoun Falakshahi, who leads Kpler's crude oil analysis team, that leverage may already be eroding.

Falakshahi said oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen dramatically since the war and the US blockade on Iranian ports. Before the conflict, roughly 30 oil tankers transited the waterway daily. Today, the average is closer to one or two.

More importantly, he argues that the crisis is accelerating efforts by Gulf states to reduce their dependence on the strait altogether. Abu Dhabi is already expanding export capacity through Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, while other producers are exploring alternative routes.

"Five years from now, that leverage that the Islamic Republic currently has probably will not exist anymore," .... "Iran may be overestimating the long-term value of its position. ... They always overplay their hand,"....

For now, Iran is testing the limits: in Lebanon, in the Persian Gulf, at sea and at the negotiating table.

'NO NUKES For IRAN' Counter-Demo to 'Move-On' at Congresswoman Maloney's Office

On Wednesday, August 26, 2015,  there was a Counter-Demonstration at  Congresswoman Maloney's Office

MoveOn.org had called their minions to over 175 events around the country to pressure our Legislators to vote FOR the VERY BAD Iran Deal.

 Their irrational position that this deal will "prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons" was countered by a group of patriots who went 'nose to nose' with Move On by countering the irrational with these rational positions:

NO DEAL IS BETTER THAN A BAD DEAL!WAR IS NOT THE ALTERNATIVE TO THIS BAD DEAL !From Move-On: "If we can secure enough pro-diplomacy Democrats, we can defend this solid deal and avert a war. And Rep. Maloney is key.Our nation's top nuclear scientists and top-ranking military brass agree: This is a good deal and the best way to keep our nation secure. In Washington, high-paid lobbyists bombard our members of Congress. So at home, they've got to hear from all of us—the folks they're supposed to represent."At first the Counter-Demo was engaged in civilized chat by the Move-on's ,  expressing calm disbelief that anyone would fear giving nukes to Iran.
  

      

This lasted for about fifteen minutes until the novelty wore off.

Then everyone went to their  designated enclosures as the dueling chants began. (this, too, remained low-key.)

Perhaps their instigators, who love to argue, were downtown at Congressman Nadlers 'support' rally.  Maloney's rally was to CONVINCE  HER that it was a GOOD deal, giving nuclear weapons to the genocidal terrorists in Iran.

Congressman Nadler's rally was to THANK HIM for getting behind Obama's Folly.  No terrorist should be denied nuclear arms just because WE THINK they are terrorists.

  
The chanting was boisterous from the Left. From the Right, it was dedicated but not quite as organized as the Progs-on-the-Left, after all, "chanting is their business". 

 No one expected anyone to change their minds, really, except perhaps Maloney.

After about an hour, the Move-On's handed a petition to Maloney's rep with the HOPE that these 3000 signatures would be the deciding factor, causing Maloney to swing her vote in favor of a NUCLEAR Iran. (didn't happen!)

Rep. Carolyn Maloney  WILL vote to Block President Obama's Iran nuclear deal

Rep. Carolyn Maloney said Wednesday she will vote to block President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran, following heavy pressure from foes and backers of the deal. "I'm against it," Maloney told the Daily News.

Maloney shared her decision on a day that saw dueling demonstrations for and against the pact outside her Manhattan district office.

Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand have split on the deal, as have Maloney and Rep. Jerrold Nadler. Nadler, the only Jewish member of Congress from New York backing the agreement, has faced furious denunciations since announcing his view last week."I never expected the vicious nature of the opposition," Nadler told Jewish Week.

Other Jewish members who oppose the deal, including Reps. Nita Lowey, Steve Israel and Eliot Engel, defended him in a letter this week. Schumer issued a statement calling Nadler "one of the most steadfast supporters of Israel's security."

August 16, 2015.  Going through some old pictures files from 2011, that I hadn't posted on The Peoples Republic of China, left me asking, "How are things in China since the 1989 murders in Tiananman Square?

"How is that New (Communist) Economic Model working out?, for "The People", and for the U.S. Are we concerned? Should we be?

 "According to current news reports the Chinese are making major acquisitions in the U. S., even with their stock market concerns. New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel n midtown Manhattan has been sold to a Chinese insurance company company for nearly $2bn... causing some concern amongst the UN as well as the US government." With the Chinese people in mind, I revisited more files taken with my circa 2011 cell-phone (the cell-phone that skipped). Files from  June of 2011.

Chinese students (just like those murdered by the Chinese government in 1989) gathered in Times Square for a memorial on the Red Steps of Duffy Square because they CAN'T in Red China. 

Remembering those murdered by the Communist Chinese; massacred in Tian An Men Square on June 4, 1989.

 

1989 was a very Big Year. The Fall of the Berlin Wall - a big fail for The Hammer and Sickle - giving HOPE to so many, including the students in Red China. But, the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) autocratic rule shut their student protests down. Quickly. Murderously.

Whether in 2011 or 2015, the CCP continues to rewrite history, Communist-style. Today. Every day. Denying the massacre at Tiananmen ever

The Chinese students gathered in Times Square were calling for "FREEDOM of Speech", "Freedom of Conscience", "FREE INTERNET", Freedom from a despotic government, just like the students in 1989.

I couldn't understand the speeches, almost all were in Chinese, but near the end, the man in the wheelchair also spoke and must have been a student in 1989.


As a young man, his legs were probably crushed by a tank in Tiananmen Square.

Books that record what actually happened in Tiananmen Square are NOT available in China.  Rallies that attempt to commemorate the 25th and 26th years anniversaries are NOT allowed. No Google allowed in The Peoples Republic. (Google is where I easily looked for this book, that recorded the TRUTH about Tiananmen.)

ON THE night of June 3rd-4th 1989 the Chinese army unleashed its tanks in the centre of Beijing to crush a protest that had begun seven weeks earlier against the Communist Party’s autocratic rule. Ever since, Chinese officials grow nervous in the run-up to the anniversary of the crackdown..... a new generation of young Chinese has since grown up that knows little of what happened, and appears not to care. The party’s memory-eradication campaign has been so effective that only 15 out of 100 of them correctly identified  the iconic photograph of the man standing in front of a column of tanks ... many young Chinese see today’s prosperity as justification for the crackdown.

 From the mother of a murdered student:

"The students were peacefully protesting on June 4. They loved their country. However the government is choosing to ignore the facts, using lies to cover the truth," said Zhang, who is now 76 years old.

Zhang's 19-year-old son Wang Nan was shot in the head on June 4, 1989, while taking photographs of the clash between students and soldiers on Chang'an Avenue. Almost three decades later, Zhang is still waiting for answers to her son's death.

Part Two - Still No Hope For Some

The Chinese Communist Government has destroyed the lives of millions. Murdered millions. The Tibetans, Falun Gong. The Citizens of Shanghai and Hong Kong.  I have seen them desperately protest the despotic policies of the Communist Chinese Government. Here. In The U.S. (Where they CAN protest) They want Freedom from Tyranny.

China has been hacking US officials’ Gmail for 5 years

Chinese cyber spies have been accessing the private emails of top US national security and trade officials since April 2010, according to an NBC News report on Monday, citing a U.S. intelligence official and top secret document...

the US official... said it was still going on... saying all top national security and trade officials were targeted.

The targeted officials were not publicly identified. (but...) The hacking coincides with Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email account as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.

Really? In 2010... 2014 ... and we're only just hearing about it?  And now that the Chinese are moving in to the Waldorf-Astoria.... Perhaps we should start solving the China problem.
