The evidence is everywhere. Socialist governments are collapsing all across Eastern Europe.

But members of the American radical left are not giving up the fight.... many local communists  appear to have been left somewhat disoriented by the rapid collapse of communist regimes in Eastern Europe.

According to conventional Marxist theory, if workers should be rebelling anywhere it should be in the highly developed capitalist nations of the West.

The Workers World Party (WWP), for example, now finds itself in the highly unpopular position of opposing reform and democratization on the continent.

"Perestroika is a disastrous step in the wrong direction," says Bill Doares, a member of the WWP National Committee, in reference to the Soviet leader's reform program.

"These are grim times for socialism, when we find that these countries have abandoned it," Doares continues. "

While the Soviet experience has inspired some Marxists, it is regarded as horrific by others.

Stalin, for example, ordered the liquidation of an entire class of Russians in order to bring about industrialization and agricultural reform. It is estimated that millions of people died during his purges, with millions more interned on work camps.

"The most Stalinist regime is more democratic and free than any capitalist country,"says WWP's Doares in defense of the deposed and executed Nicolai Ceausescu of Romania. "What is dictatorship for one class is democracy for another class...

... the WWP, traditionally the most staunch supporter of Stalinism, views Gorbachev most harshly. "His policies can only weaken the Soviet Union," says Doares. "

Back at Home

So local Marxists have turned to social justice issues instead. Often supporting mainstream liberal causes, they have targeted racism, sexism, homophobia and poverty for eradication. They have also been active in the pro-choice movement,

American communists say their other immediate goal is to educate the public. ...their newspapers to communicate to the masses--journals such as Revolutionary Worker and People's Daily World--they also hold public forums and discussions to spread their message.

All of which is in preparation for revolution in this country,

The poor and oppressed of America will eventually confront the ruling class ...and they intend to be ready to lead the battle.

Democratic Socialists and The City on a Hill

Since Sanders’s first presidential campaign in 2015, DSA has seen a swift rise in membership. Nationally, the organization has grown from about 4,000 members to more than 100,000, making it the largest socialist organization since the original socialist party prior to World War I.

Members look to Sanders and Mamdani to carve out a permanent space for socialism in public office.

Aug 6, 2023 in Dag Hammarsköld Plaza, across from the U.N. with Hiroshima/Nagasaki as the forgotten step-child.

One of the many sponsors was Caleb Maupin (Center for Political Innovation)

 Caleb Maupin represents the younger generation and their dedication to Socialism. Caleb seems to be one of the many who supports La Rouche/Schiller in tandem with hard Left / Socialist/Communist cohorts.

He is a widely acclaimed speaker, writer, journalist, and political analyst and has traveled extensively in the Middle East and in Latin America.

Caleb asks: Will the Trump MAGA crowd open a path to Socialism? - MAGA and the Crisis of Capitalism.

 

China, Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua are showing how growth can actually be achieved.... Controlled means of production to ensure economic growth. It is what the MAGA people want, but they revolt against it because of the term "Socialism".... the "fight" will be between Fascism and Socialism.'

 

The Next Generation Communists/Socialists are nurtured in our schools and colleges - they do not chose their path, they are CHOSEN with relentless propaganda .... Watching Caleb march up the ladder of totalitarianism, seems a waste of brains and talent, yet so many like him are also dedicated to this New Normal: SOCIALISM.

What happened to Nord Stream 2 pipeline?

Gas deliveries ceased in September 2022 following the destruction of three of the pipe lines and sanctions linked to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As of February 2023, there is no conclusive evidence of who carried out the sabotage despite three separate investigations by Denmark, Germany, and Sweden.

. Maglev – the Great Debate

Six commercial maglev systems are currently in operation around the world. One is located in Japan, two in South Korea, and three in China. Jul 13, 2023

 There are several disadvantages to maglev trains:
- Maglev guide paths are more costly than conventional steel railway tracks. Because the magnetic coils and material used in this setup are very costly.
- Maglev trains require an all-new set up right from the scratch. It is hard to be done as well as costly.
- As present railway infrastructure is of no use for maglev, it will either have to be replaced with the maglev system or an entirely new set up will have to be created; both of them will need a huge amount of cost for initial investments.
- Although maglev is pretty quiet, noise caused by air disturbance still occurs.
- Maglev trains are feasible only in urban areas.

China is now the proud parent of a National Maglev Transportation Technology Research Center. The revered Chengdu Aircraft Industry Cooperation (CAC) in South Central China is also dedicating significant resources to maglev.  China now has its own research programmes and says that it can do maglev better and cheaper than Germany or Japan. The growing number of maglev enthusiasts hope that its optimism is not unfounded. For now, the future of maglev seems likely to rest on these Oriental entrepreneurs" (These trains are very costly )

The BRICS group of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa has emerged as a formidable economic and geopolitical power.

BRICS Countries

In 2006, the foreign ministers of Brazil, Russia, India, and China met for the first time ... marking the beginning of BRIC cooperation.... In 2011, with South Africa officially becoming a member, BRIC was enlarged to BRICS.  ...in 2017, China successfully hosted the BRICS Xiamen Summit.

How long will the dollar last as the world’s default currency? The BRICS nations are gathering in South Africa this August with it on the agenda.

Not happy with Scott Ritter- NY Times 2012

 

Scott Ritter, a former UN weapons inspector in the 1990s, and a Marine Corps analyst during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan a decade prior, is among the cohort of Americans courted by Russian propaganda sources.

Recently, he launched a tour of his new book, “Disarmament in the time of the Perestroika,” in Russia, and presented it in cities such as Kazan, Irkutsk and Yekaterinburg. The book, he claims, aims to warn the US public about not seeking out escalations with Russia which could lead to a nuclear attack and insists the Western public has forgotten how difficult it was to achieve these agreements in the first place. "Recently, he launched a ferocious debate after publishing an article alleging the US had bombed the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The controversial gas route through the Baltic Sea was supposed to circumvent countries like Ukraine and Poland – Russia’s main political opponents even before the invasion -- in delivering gas to the western part of the continent."

Opposed to nuclear war, yes, but promoting La Rouche/Schiller and Socialism in tandem with Communism and hard-left politics was the prevailing theme. The producer/director of the film, 8:15 Hiroshima, From Father to Daughter” - J.R. Heffelfinger. spoke  ".... giving voice to the voiceless and making the invisible, visible. "

He promoted his film and shared that on Jan 24, 2023 "the Doomsday Clock was moved to 90 seconds before midnight. The closest it's been since its creation in 1947.  And quoted author John Hersey"What has kept the world safe from the bomb since 1945 has not been deterrence, in a sense of fear of specific weapons so much as it's been memory; the memory of what happened at Hiroshima."

 Ending Part 1 so many opinions, statements, goals.
