NY Workers for Choice held a press conference with the bi-partisan Common Sense Caucus ... After, at 1 pm, testimony was given inside City Hall regarding vaccine mandates and city worker shortages. Workers for Choice represents all New York workers who’ve been fired or banned for declining covid vaccination. ... Inna Vernikov was unable to attend but she did have a staff member address the press conference. FDNY: Sophy Medina ,  Bernacet Mejia; Teachers for Choice, Joy Amanda ; UFA vice president Robert Eustace showed up and spoke in support of fired firefighters. Referring to new mayor's administration, new health commissioner, she says they are willing to listen. CDC now admits natural immunity which  is just as good as vax in fight against covid.

Later, in the City Council Labor Meeting, forced to retire FDNY Capt. Brendan Fogarty railed against the vaccine mandates.

A quartet of conservative City Council members turned a hearing on the municipal government’s soaring vacancy rates into an anti-vaccine mandate spectacle Friday amid buzz that Mayor Adams could be on the brink of peeling back some of New York’s remaining coronavirus restrictions.

“We’re not in 2020, we’re not in 2021, the city should get back to normal,” he said. “The city should lift everything.”

Despite their focus on the mandate, only 1,761 city employees had gotten fired for refusing to get vaccinated as of Aug. 30 — a fraction of the more than 330,000 posts across all municipal agencies, according to data from the mayor’s office. Another 583 unvaccinated workers remain on unpaid leave while waiting on the city to review their applications for exemptions to the mandate, the data shows.

The hearing in the Council’s Civil Service and Labor Committee featured testimony from members of Adams’ administration on what they’re doing to improve the city government’s job vacancy rate, which stands at 8.3% — more than five times higher than pre-pandemic levels. [NY Daily News]

"As of July, more than 1,750 city workers were fired for not getting the COVID-19 vaccine — including at least 36 from the NYPD.A spokesman from the city Law Department said: “A court has previously upheld the NYPD’s reasonable accommodation process, ruling it complies with all applicable laws. Both the NYPD and a citywide appeals panel carefully reviewed this officer’s accommodation request. The city is reviewing this decision and is considering its options.The NYPD and City Hall deferred comment to the Law Department" [NY POST]

End Illegal Mandates : 1st Anniv. March For Justice - LET US WORK!

August 25. 2022: The End Illegal Mandates: March For Justice. The 1st yr anniversary of the government's over-reach began outside the DOE (Department of Education) in Brooklyn.  The protest continued as they marched across the Brooklyn Bridge to NY City Hall.

.There was some confusion as to the final location (it was the west side of City Hall) but until that was cleared up many protest signs were placed on the east side of City Hall fence.

This is the usual set up and the NYPD has not made it an issue- UNTIL today.

TODAY, the police demanded the signs be removed. Stating there is a law nothing can be placed on public fences. (video).

HOWEVER, I noted the placement of vendor pictures on the pedestrian walkway fence that leads to the Brooklyn Bridge. Rules for thee...but not for ...?

And then the marchers arrived. (video)

Peoples Medical Freedom Rally - NY City Hall - Aug 9, 2021

 August 9, 2021. Noon. Outside NY City Hall. The protest started with a HUGE mural of Mayor de Blasio in a Che t-shirt, holding a bloody head of a decapitated Statue of Liberty.

Hundreds were there to protest a vaccine mandate for entering gyms, indoor restaurants, and entertainment venues that is set to take effect on August 16.

Part 2 - There was a heckler ... Liberal Activist/Agitator and ACTOR   @Waltermasterson  dressed in medical garb while taunting the protestors, who gave it right back at him.  Part 3   - As I left, I heard a respectful Pledge of Allegiance with a slight alteration - to include mention of the Constitution.

And some extra info that the media and government works hard to debunk:

"The CDC is actively under counting vaccinated COVID cases. They admit that the injections do not stop transmission. They tell you that you still have to wear masks. The injections might reduce symptoms. They do not provide lasting immunity like a Polio vaccine does. We know this. This is the science. These injections are not real vaccines. We need to realize that we are mandating something during an emergency that is just a symptom-reducing treatment at best. There are other treatments, but the doctors who dare treat COVID successfully without resorting to an RNA injection are censored from the mainstream news media and internet. Their opinions are more difficult to find, but the information is out there. Actively censoring dissenting medical and scientific opinions contributes to mask and vaccine "hesitancy" and so does forcing a vaccine passport down our collective throats."

In conclusion: What was most important to this crowd, it seemed, was that losing freedom to medical tyranny in favor of a lawsuit-free agenda favoring Big Pharma was NOT acceptable. This was a point made by a politically diverse crowd. Some agreed with taking the injections and wearing masks, and some disagreed. Some were conservative, some were liberal, a diverse array of pandemic opinions and political views. All agreed with "My Body My Choice". And said NO to mandating injections and masks and vaccine passports.

MLK Day protest demands RED BILL de Blasio Step down

January 16, 2017. 3:30 pm Outside NY City Hall . A Protest/Rally was led by a Coalition to Protect Chinatown and LES (the Lower East Side) on Martin Luther King Federal Holiday as they demanded racist Mayor Bill de Blasio STEP DOWN.

Seems the Commies at "Citywide Alliance Against Displacement" no longer like their Commie Mayor (go figure)

They claim de Blasio (somehow) uses this holiday to cover up his racist policies  (no examples were given of HOW he does this).

The Citywide Alliance Against Displacement presented their list of  demands:

1. End racism in city planning. Pass community-based “People First” plans like the Chinatown Working Group rezoning plan.

2. End public funding for luxury development, such as 421-a. Instead, use public resources to preserve and build more permanent low-income housing.

3. Stop privatization of public land and assets.

4. Mayor DeBlasio and those in City Council who also collude with developers to step down.

BUT .... where was Red Bill? They said heawas at a church - St Marys Episcopal - in Brooklyn.  The protestors claimed that de Blasio was also using this Federal Holiday to urge New Yorkers to join him at a Midtown rally on Thursday January 19th (promoted by moveon.org

De Blasio took to Twitter to urge New Yorkers who have concern's about Trump's stances on immigration, climate change, healthcare and policing to come to the rally.This is a big celebrity event planned for Thursday at 6 pm (Columbus Circle- Trump Tower)

They claimed that de Blasio  helped perpetuated New York City's legacy of racism and displacement by encouraging luxury developments in communities of color. A real de Blasio hate-fest.

In Harlem, Williamsburg, Lower East Side and Chinatown, they said, communities are destroyed, tenants face evictions, small businesses closed and jobs  lost due to high-rent and real estate tax increases in these neighborhoods.

 Despite overwhelming community opposition to his plan (over 90% of community boards throughout the city rejected Mayor DeBlasio’s citywide rezoning policies) they said that de Blasio refuses to pass community-led rezoning plans like the Chinatown Working Group rezoning plan that would protect all of Chinatown and Lower East Side,

The Citywide Alliance Against Displacement feels the MLK Jr's legacy of Civil Rights should be one of ordinary people standing against injustice and racism and the investigations of de Blasio's administration has apparently revealed a preference for developers who would displace The People.
